Fort Lowell Road Pedestrian Enhancement
Tucson, Arizona
In the Old Fort Lowell Neighborhood between Swan and Craycroft roads, there are significant buildings on the National Historic Register along with sensitive visual and biological resources. Historic occupation has been documented from Hohokam occupation, approximately 300 A.D., to Camp Lowell in the 1800’s to the establishment of the Mexican El Fuerte to the Mormon agricultural community.
SAGE blended transportation needs with the cultural and historic integrity of the areas and with public opinion, into a successful enhancement project with full public acceptance.
