SAGE Landscape Architecture & Environmental, Inc. conducts surveys and
prepares environmental compliance documentation for a
variety of special status plant and animal species in
Pima County, Arizona and elsewhere in the American
Southwest, including those that are federally listed as
threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species
Act. SAGE is also familiar with the vulnerable species
identified in the proposed Sonoran Desert Conservation
Plan being drafted by Pima County Administration.

field surveys, habitat analysis and agency coordination
for threatened and endangered species found throughout
the Western United States
SAGE assisted Pima County Natural Resources, Parks Recreation
manage and carry out U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
Pygmy-owl survey protocol for 21-programmed sites
throughout Pima County in 1999, an
additional 18 in 2000 and approximately 25 sites in
2001. SAGE proposed a plan to expedite the process by
quickly analyzing and screening each of the sites for
potential and/or designated critical habitat to eliminate all but those requiring
surveys.
SAGE, under contract with Pima County Natural Resources, Parks
Recreation conducts surveys for the endangered Pima
pineapple cactus and habitat evaluation on various
capital improvement projects. Coordinating Agencies
included U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Bureau
of Land Management.
