SANTA RITA MOUNTAINS, ARIZONA

Mt. Lemmon Service Area Watershed Study and Wastewater Management Plan
In cooperation with the Arizona Trails Association and Pima County Natural Resources, Parks, and Recreation, the Coronado National Forest is proposing to construct a new approximately 9.5-mile Las Colinas segment of the Santa Rita section of the Arizona Trail from Oak Tree Canyon northward to the Forest’s boundary with Arizona State Trust Land. SAGE is working with USDA Forest Service officials to route the proposed trail around sensitive archeological sites. SAGE is also completing biological and cultural resource surveys along the proposed route and developing a Biological Assessment, Heritage Assessment, and an appropriate compliance document in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
