Los Colinas, Arizona Trail

Pima County, Arizona

In cooperation with the Arizona Trails Association and Pima County Natural Resources, Parks, and Recreation, the Coronado National Forest proposed construction of a new approximate 9.5-mile Las Colinas segment of the Santa Rita section of the Arizona Trail from Oak Tree Canyon northward to the Forest’s boundary with Arizona State Trust Land. SAGE worked with USDA Forest Service officials to route the proposed trail around sensitive archeological sites. SAGE also completed biological and cultural resource surveys along the proposed route and developed a Biological Assessment, Heritage Assessment, and an appropriate compliance document in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Brad served as Principal Investigator for this study.
