Hospice of the Valley

Phoenix, Arizona

Project includes landscape for a new office building on the Hospice of the Valley administrative campus in Phoenix, Arizona. The majority of the new landscape area occurs above an underground parking facility which presented unique challenges in terms of plant species selection, placement, and irrigation design. The landscape features bold geometric masses of indigenous plant materials that offer interesting textures, colors, and scents. The ground plane and hardscape materials reinforce this geometric theme and feature varying types of decomposed granite, fractured rock, and exposed aggregate. Raised planters are situated in key locations to allow for tree placement and to provide shade for the entry courtyard.
