La PosadaTucson, ArizonaContinuum of Care CampusSAGE developed a comprehensive landscape master plan for a Continuum of Care campus which provides a framework for the development of the 150-acre site. Working closely with the architect and client, SAGE designed circulation and planting improvements. Native and desert adapted plants were selected to relate to the adjacent river habitat as well as enhance the views of the nearby Santa Rita Mountains. To create identities for each neighborhood, plant palettes and layouts were created. Circulation enhancements included new pedestrian paths, fitness trails, and modifications to vehicular routes to encourage walking and improve way-finding. In addition, SAGE developed the design concept for a central park intended to be the heart of the community and encourage social and physical activities among residents. La Hacienda CourtyardFor an assisted living facility, SAGE provided a conceptual planting and hardscape design for two garden courtyards which allow residents to connect with nature despite limited mobility. The garden courtyard plants were selected to attract birds and butterflies. Raised planters showcase flowering plants and those with unusual foliage colors, textures or scents. The walled dining courtyard features bold colors and patterns balanced with lush, desert adapted plants. Treasure Shoppe Phase ISAGE provided landscape design for a public retail component of a 150-acre Continuum of Care campus. The initial development included 2 retail buildings, parking and a courtyard, and is designed to connect to additional retail development. The courtyard design features a grove of flowering desert adapted trees in raised planters which provide shade and a landmark for way-finding. The integral color concrete paving and raised planters are enhanced with decorative tile which compliment the Mediterranean style of the buildings. Additional planting around the buildings and in pots, selected from the landscape master plan, frame the courtyard and provide sculptural accents. SAGE provided design direction for a fountain of tile and oversized pots which will provide cooling sounds of water and will be the physical connection to Phase II development.
