SAGE was selected with the team led by Bucher, Willis and Ratliff Corporation (BWR) to develop and implement the work plan for parks and recreation facilities inventory, assessment and public outreach. Included were a citizen’s interest and needs and customer satisfaction task, focus group meetings, and public meetings. Goals and objectives, as well as a vision statement were developed to guide the process. Planning and design standards were developed which address new land acquisitions, open space linkages, facilities and community services. Operations costs and capital development options were assessed and defined by the team. SAGE’s role was to support the planning effort with facilities inventory, public meetings, environmental overview, estimated construction costs, and by developing design guidelines and principles.
