SAGE
was selected by the City of Tucson to lead the
redevelopment of this important Central Business
District open space plaza. Issues which the design
addressed were lack of clear and safe visibility,
degraded turf, poor drainage, lack of event space, lack
of event support facilities, abundance of skate boarding
damage, frequent homeless use and uneven hardscape
settlement, within a limited Back to Basics budget.
Through stakeholder meetings with the City Facilities
Department, SAGE developed 3 concepts and achieved
consensus within 3 weeks, and moved through the
construction document and construction phases with
complete support from the community and the media.
